• Spec Community Panel Participant: the members of our podcast Semi-Sages of the Pages talk about how community unleashes creativity. Join the discussion about how our passion for speculative fiction allows us to escape the challenges of everyday life. Podcasting, personality, and perspective, let’s unleash the keys to productivity!
• Character Sheet to Build Your Writing Skillset Workshop with the Semi-Sages of the Pages: Using a writer-based character sheet, (like one would find in a role playing game such as Dungeons and Dragons), take participants through the self-reflexive activity of understanding who they are as authors. Participants will leave with an understanding of their strengths and weaknesses as well as growth strategies.
• Demystifying Self-Publishing Panel Moderator:  As a panelist alongside Catherine Lundoff, S. Faxon discussed how without a publisher or agent to help lead the way, the path to publication is long and winding, but hope is on the horizon! The panelists discussed the stories of authors who have been through the process talk about the things they’ve learned and wished they knew at the beginning of their journeys.

The Writer’s Coffeehouse – Mysterious Galaxy

Details: The Coffeehouse is a bunch of writers sitting around talking about writing…with coffee.  No agenda, just chatting about the latest trends in the industry, the craft of writing, markets, pitching and selling, conquering frustration, defeating writers block, and all of the good things that come from the community of writers.  No previous publishing experience necessary.  The Writers Coffeehouse attracts everyone, from absolute beginners to award-winners and bestsellers.

San Diego Public Library Local Authors Showcase

Details: The Local Author showcase reception, celebrating local authors in San Diego. Foreign & Domestic Affairs is featured as one of the local author contributions at the Downtown Central Library in San Diego.

SDWEG Anthology Launch

Details: S. Faxon read one of her two short stories that are published in the 2019 San Diego Writer’s and Editor’s Guild Anthology, The Guilded Pen, 8th Edition.

Details: Official launch party of S. Faxon’s latest novel, Foreign & Domestic Affairs, the sequel to The Animal Court. Event included a no-host bar reception, a presentation by S. Faxon, and book signing.
